The Universe Without You
Posted on August 17, 2011
The Universe without you, can you imagine? Many lives lived but not your own. Can we escape our perception and muse over existence without our ego getting in the way?
But what about me!?
Erase yourself from life in your mind. People move on. You know they do. Many have come before us and we've not remembered them. Can you imagine the nothing? Can you imagine the Universe - without you?
They call this enlightenment in some circles. Meditating on the nothing. Meditating on the true reality of everything without you. You once weren't incarnate in that body you're gathering this information in right now, you also will one day revert back to that bodyless state. This short blip of "time" in between is, comparatively speaking, not as real as existence without your body is.
But nevertheless, here we are. We are here.
Here being microscopically small. Betelgeuse makes our Sun look like small potatoes. "Size is all relative." said one ant to another, while fighting over a gigantic piece of bread that was just a crumb from a stale sandwich.
This we do know; we can divide the infinity. We have microscopes and have discovered holographic attributes to the patterns of DNA and creation itself. We can zoom in, divide, zoom in, divide, and continue almost indefinitely. We see that creation operates in patterns. But, life from our perspective of size is all that matters to us. We are here. Here we are.
But what about me!?
This is my ride, my trip through the Universe. Not yours. Mine.
Are we all just the Universe experiencing itself, like so much galactic masterbation?
So who's getting off in the middle East? Those sicko's who are into penis mutilation, that's who. Don't even look that stuff up if you plan on eating today.
The Universe is sort of a sick bastard then isn't it? But also very lovely and beautiful and everything between.
And who defines size? One flea says to another, "Do these jeans make my ass look fat?" "Yes Karla honey, they do. Now leave me alone and start jogging if you plan on asking me trick questions like that!"
Reality from our vantage point is all we know. Therefore we are the gods of definition. But the flea isn't wrong when he says he just took a gigantic dump, is he? You decide. You're the authority on what's what - remember?
Existence without you. Zoom in, zoom out. Up close, far away.
I guess that's okay if it's hard to imagine. After all, we're made of the same stuff that the Universe itself is made of. Actually, if we defined 'The Universe', we'd have to include ourselves in the definition - wouldn't we? We're made of adams err, atoms, and so is everything else right? Can the Universe imagine existence without itself? Wait, I have an idea. Switching terms may help, let's call this "The Cosmic All", or "The Cosmic Everything". We're definitely a part of The Cosmic All - see? "The Universe" sounds sort of like something 'out there', not right here inside and around us. So is all this really just The Cosmic All taking a ride through itself? Is The Cosmic All self-absorbed? The root of selfishness hard-wired into the very atoms that make up our bodies? Hmmf. I'm not sure if any of the 7 billion of us Earthlings who have yet to travel outside of Earth are qualified to answer some of these questions.
This we do know, that we are made up of the same stuff as everything else in the Universe. We are in the Universe and the Universe is in us. That sounds a lot more spiritual than it really is. It's more science than spirituality. But hey, maybe some of those nutjobs were ahead of their time right?
And we all get to find out first hand what's on the other side of these bodies. That's the good news. Some say nothing, some say something. One flea says to another, "there's an afterlife man, I heard about it from a guy who knows a guy!" Are the fleas wrong?
Lord of The Fleas. Where paradise is endlessly chafed dog ass.
As can be expected by now... I turned that thought into a song. And here it is:
The Universe without you
can you imagine this all
without your mind?
Life will go on after you're gone
there we others
plenty of others
before you arrived
You know our Sun is small
compared to others
What if we're microscopic in someones eyes?
These bodies simple vessels to gather information
that we otherwise couldn't find?
Are we all creation
experiencing itself?
Can you set aside your ego with your mind?
And muse over this existence without you in it?
As nothing
As not interpreted
through your eyes?
You know our Sun is small
compared to others
What if we're microscopic in someones eyes?
These bodies simple vessels to gather information
that we otherwise couldn't find?
But here we are
here we are
we are here
GarageBand? Well, I'm in a garage and recording. That's about as close as I get haha.
Take THAT Julian Assange!
