It's Pretty Simple Actually

So a lot of people complain about the media not telling the truth. A lot of people get upset when they find out they are being lied to by "reputable" news organizations. Likewise, and understandably, the majority of people get mad when politicians lie to them or take advantage of their geo-political ignorance.
I think it's safe to say that those "conspiracy" talk show hosts wouldn't have a foundation to stand on if everyone told the truth - right? I mean, if nothing was hidden then there's no value in "secret information".
Anyway, it's pretty simple folks. Basic addition here...
Governments use disinformation (on record).

Canada and The United States are open-border, multi-cultural countries who take in citizens of other countries that we are technically at war with.

If you've travelled the world even a little you probably would understand all this much easier. If I went to certain parts of Pakistan/Afghanistan/Iraq/Palestine right now for instance, I'd be liable to get abducted and held hostage, because of my skin colour, and because everyone would be suspicious of me for not being like them. If I went to Africa right now, guess what, I'm not black, and that may not go over very well in certain parts. If I got dropped off in front of Kim Jong Il's palace right now, guess what - I'm not Asian, and you could probably count the seconds left on my life on one hand. You get my point? WE are the multi-cultural continent, not them. Heck, even parts of Mexico aren't safe for the gringo now!
We are the multi-cultural Everyone's Welcome countries - Canada and the United States. I'll hand it to the UK too I suppose. Last I was there, there were a tonne of Pakistani's. So my point is, if you were a super-paranoid intelligence agency working with the government you'd have to view every outsider as an operative, like that couple that was recently arrested in Iran. I mean, who even knows what the truth is anymore when some foreign country is saying "Mr. Such and such and his wife were really undercover spies sent from country X." Can you prove that? Can anyone? So, viewing everyone as an operative, or as a spy - how do you tackle that? With disinformation of course! You lie, you lie a LOT. You lie often, and hope that the truth never gets back to the spy's home country.
This, in essence is why you will always have lies coming out of the television and out of the politicians, because this whole continent is their info-war-zone, and you and I are "potential spies" that need to be fed this disinformation and kept in the dark. Like mushrooms!
So what we get as a result are all these alternative media sites and organizations whose sole mission is to sort through the lies and disinformation and try to make sense of it all for their audience (not that this is wrong in any way), all the while the military-industrial-complex-funded-mainstream-corporate-media keeps pumping out more and more lies and disinformation - a perpetual make-work program! Some say that the Nazi Regime is still covertly active and is operating on this continent to destabilize our governments from within and ultimately usurp control over the entire western hemisphere! Oh my!
But siding with demonic control freaks for a second, if you were President of country X, who had a multi-cultural population made up of people from country's A-Z who you were currently at war with, and you had to be somewhere specific, you might not want to advertise, "President Insert Your Name Here will be at 123 Main Street at high noon tomorrow", because as all your "intelligence officials" would advise you, "That's suicide Mr. President". So you'd probably not tell anyone where you were going to be, or if you did, you'd lie about where, or have two or three dummy cars and a few look-alikes - which is starting to sound a lot like the current situation in The United States.
Long story short, don't be surprised that your government and television are lying to you. Constant disinformation will perpetually continue as long as we are in a multi-cultural society who's at war with other countries who have citizens in ours. It's pretty simple actually
And honestly speaking, one day all secrets will be open information - then where will all those people be whose very existence centres around being "in the know"? When everyone is in the know, there's no need for those who get off on having insider secrets.
I can't wait for that day.
In conclusion, disinformation is just the way "intelligence" agencies (CIA/FBI/ISI/IDF/MI6/SIS) currently tackle the information war. And it works, which is why they keep doing it! So it's nothing to get upset about or lose sleep over (unless you find it difficult to handle the truth, that is. The truth being that the aforementioned intelligence agencies don't see borders - the whole Universe is their combat-zone), and nothing you can really change, so long as you are living on planet Earth, or in a multi-cultural country that takes in citizens from other countries that you technically are at war with. My advice? Turn off your TV, and tell those you care about to do the same.
